Monett,MO : Hwy. 60 wreck turns fatal on September, Wednesday 20th 2017
A Verona woman died of her injuries, and two others were hospitalized, following a wreck at 6:48 a.m. on Highway 60 at Farm Road 1100, east of Monett.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Daniel Gulley, 46, of Springfield, was driving a 2017 Freightliner box truck westbound and attempted to make a left turn in front of a 2001 Ford Explorer, being driven by Marvin Flores-Casimiro, 24, of Verona.
Beatriz Juarez, 27, of Verona, a passenger in Flores-Casimiro's vehicle, suffered serious injuries at the scene and was flown to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. She succumbed to here injuries at the hospital, pronounced dead by Dr. Kevin Christian at 3:43 p.m.
Another passenger in the Explorer, Sasha Flores, 1, of Verona, suffered moderate injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. According to Sgt. John Lueckenhoff, with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the child is alive at the hospital. Flores-Casimiro was not injured.
Gulley suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital.
Gulley and Flores-Casimiro were wearing safety devices, and Flores and Juarez were not. The Explorer was totaled, and the Freightliner sustained moderate damage.
