Oklahoma City, OK : A man was hit and killed by a semi-truck at NW Expressway exit On Thursday, June 23rd, 2016

A man was hit and killed by a semi-truck on the Belle Isle Bridge early Thursday morning.

The Highway Patrol said Christopher Brian Drelinger, 27, of Salt Lake City was killed.

The accident happened near the NW Expressway exit around 1 a.m. Troopers said Drelinger was walking across the interstate when he was hit.

Investigators do not know why the man was in the road. Westbound I-44 was shut down for several hours while authorities investigated the incident.

The bridge was reopened before the Thursday morning commute.
