BELLEVUE, WA : Trooper injured in I-90 crash on Tuesday, December, 26th 2017
A Washington State Patrol trooper was injured Tuesday night in a crash on eastbound Interstate 90.
The trooper apparently suffered only minor injuries.
The trooper was responding to a disabled, blocking vehicle on eastbound I-90 near 133rd Avenue Southeast, said Sgt Julie Fisher of the State Patrol.
The trooper was outside his cruiser and talking to the driver of the disabled vehicle, Fisher said.
An approaching vehicle made an abrupt lane change and hit the trooper's cruiser.
The trooper was hit either by his own car or the other vehicle.
The trooper radioed that he was injured. He was conscious and talking, Fisher said.
She said he suffered bumps and bruises and has been take to a hospital to be checked out.
There is no evidence of impairment in the accident, Fisher said.
The incident reduced I-90 eastbound to one lane, the Washington State Department of Transportation says.
