Yaphank, NY : LI man arrested on DWI charge after fatal wrong-way crash on Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Suffolk County police have arrested a Port Jefferson man on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a fatal wrong-way collision.

Authorities say the man was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. He hit a 57-year-old man who was driving in the leftmost westbound lanes.

That man was identified as Thomas D'Eletto of Aquebogue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
