Rapid City,SD : Huron man ID'd as Carpenter fatal crash victim on January, Wednesday 31st 2018

A Huron man has been identified as the person who died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Carpenter.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Claudia Johnson was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander mini van eastbound on South Dakota Highway 28 at the same time Victoria Rosendahl was driving a GMC 3500 van westbound.

Authorities say Rosendahl lost control due to icy road conditions, and the GMC slid into the eastbound lane and collided with the Uplander.

Gregory Johnson, 67, was the passenger in the Uplander. He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Claudia Johnson, 67, also of Huron, suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Huron hospital.
