Lackawanna County, PA : Scranton man dies in crash on Interstate 81 in South Abington Twp on Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2016

A Scranton man is dead after a Thursday afternoon crash on Interstate 81 north.

Anthony Arbochus, 78, drove his 2002 Subaru Forester into the rear of a tractor-trailer near mile marker 194 around 3:45 p.m., according to state police. Mr. Arbochus was transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, William Boyd, 50, of Pitcher, New York, was not injured, troopers said.
