A Verona man died after a motorcycle accident in Penn Hills on Sunday.

Police said Kyle Daniels, 44, was riding his motorcycle up Heberton Drive at about 2 p.m., approaching Hulton Road, when the accident involving another motorist's car occurred.

“For some reason he laid the motorcycle down. It slid through the intersection and he was sliding through behind (the motorcycle) when the lady ran him over,” said Penn Hills police Chief Howard Burton.

He said no charges were filed against the woman driving the car.

Daniels was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, where he died approximately an hour later.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, torso and extremities.

Burton said that Daniels was not wearing a helmet.
