Old Mamalahoa Highway is back open at Teshima Junction after a crash and utility pole damage triggered a nearly day-long closure.

According to the Hawaii Police Department, a vehicle hit and severely damaged a utility pole at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. The crash prompted the vehicle to catch fire.
