Topeka, KS : A motorcycle rider was killed on Monday, September 11, 2017
A motorcycle rider was killed Monday morning after he was struck by a car while attempting to pass a semi-trailer in Clay County in northeast Kansas.
The crash was reported at 8:32 a.m. on K-15 highway, about 2 miles south of Clay Center.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was southbound on K-15 when it attempted to pass a semi-trailer in a no-passing zone.
The rider laid the motorcycle down on the left side in the northbound lane, where he was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu.
