Astoria, OR : One man died, two people hurt in Highway 30 crash on Friday morning July 25th 2014
One man died and two other people were injured in a crash on Highway 30 Friday morning.
The crash happened about three miles east of Astoria just before 7 a.m.
State police spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings said a woman was driving a vehicle westbound when it crossed the center line and sideswiped an eastbound vehicle with two people inside.
A man in the westbound vehicle died at the scene. The woman who was driving was seriously injured and taken by LifeFlight to a Portland hospital. A third person in that vehicle was not hurt.
The man driving the eastbound vehicle was injured and taken by ambulance to an Astoria hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, Hastings said. His passenger was not hurt.
The names of the people involved in the crash have not been released.
It's unclear what caused the westbound vehicle to cross the center line.
The highway reopened to traffic at around 12 p.m.
