CHESHIRE, CT : Cheshire man faces DUI charge in crash on Thursday, March 29th 2017
Police charged a 21-year-old local man with driving under the influence after an accident early Thursday that closed part of Mountain Road for 10 hours.
A car driven by Jason Joaquim of Pamela Lane hit a utility pole at 80 Mountain Road at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Lt. Jeff Sutherland, a department spokesman, said.
The investigation into the accident and the utility pole replacement kept Mountain Road between Ives Row and Route 70 closed until about noon, Sutherland said.
Joaquim also was charged with failure to drive in proper lane as a result of the accident, according to police. Sutherland said Joaquim was being held in lieu of bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at Superior Court in Meriden.
