One person died and two were critically injured in a rollover west of Shakopee Thursday afternoon.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded at 3:11 p.m. to the one-car crash near the 13800 block of Zumbro Avenue in Jackson Township, on the western outskirts of Shakopee.
Five people were in the car, and one was deceased at the scene, two were critically injured, and two had less serious injuries, the sheriff's office said in a news release. It appears the vehicle was traveling southbound on the gravel road, when it left the road, hit a field approach driveway and began to overturn.
One person was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center and three were transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital.
The Shakopee Police Department, Allina Ambulance, and State Patrol assisted Scott County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
Identification of those involved in the accident is being withheld pending notification of family members. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
