Hazleton, PA : Teen driver involved in rollover crash on Saturday, 17th March 2018

A driver of a vehicle that rolled over several times, leveled a fire hydrant and left a 100-yard trail of debris along North Church Street at 9:25 a.m. Saturday will be charged with driving under the influence, Hazleton police said.

Romer Martinez Nunez, 19, was traveling at a high rate of speed and put down 100 yards of skid marks before losing control of his vehicle in the 700 block, police said.

Nunez refused medical treatment after his vehicle landed upright in front of a house, but he also will be charged with driving at an unsafe speed, reckless driving, careless driving and underage drinking, pending results of a blood-alcohol test, police said. The city’s fire department and ambulances also responded.
