Stuttgart,AR : Trooper, minor injured in wreck Friday outside Stuttgart on January, Friday 19th 2018
An Arkansas State Police (ASP) trooper and a minor were both involved in a wreck after the juvenile fled from the state officer, both were injured in incident.
ASP Trooper Christopher Aaron initiated a traffic stop on the minor at 11 p.m. north of Stuttgart along U.S. Highway 79, according to ASP. The Prairie County minor, whose age was not released, is being charged with felony fleeing.
“The vehicle being driven by the teenager was a pick-up truck that wrecked a short distance after the trooper tried to stop the truck,” TFC. Liz S. Chapman, with the director’s office of the ASP public relations department said.
Both the pick-up truck and state police patrol vehicle wrecked during the pursuit. As a result of the crash the trooper and truck’s driver were injured. The two were treated and released from area hospitals, according to Chapman.
Two other juveniles who were passengers in the fleeing pick-up truck, however, neither was injured.
