A Saint Johns man was seriously injured Wednesday when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car at Race Track Road and Quail Run Way in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Joseph McAnarney, 68, was driving west in the left lane of Race Track Road about 6 p.m. when his Honda Civic started to drift to the left, the Highway Patrol said. The car hit a curb and tree, becoming airborne. It overturned, then came to rest upright. The accident blocked the left turn lane and left lane of eastbound Race Track Road.
