Sacramento,CA : Motorcyclist killed in fiery crash on southbound I-15 on September, Thursday 21th 2017
A motorcyclist was killed in a fiery crash on southbound Interstate 15 that prompted a SigAlert and jammed traffic for miles Thursday morning.
First reported at 5:56 a.m. as a crash involving a motorcycle just south of Oak Hill Road, the motorcycle was said to be on fire and blocking the No. 2 and No. 3 lanes, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
CHP Sergeant Joseph Corney told the Daily Press that the motorcycle, which was driven by Jonathan Tran, 29, of Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner, was a 2014 Yamaha.
“The motorcycle was splitting traffic on southbound 15, south of Oak Hill (Road), when it collided into the rear of a passenger car in the No. 1 lane,” Corney said. “The motorcycle careened off the car to the right and collided with a big rig and was subsequently run over by the big rig.”
