Memorial for Marine killed in motorcycle accident goes missing

He's a decorated Marine who fought bravely for his country. His family is now demanding answers, wanting to know who would steal a roadside memorial dedicated to him.Stephen Walreth was killed in a motorcycle accident last month. His family was proud of his service and built a memorial just for him. They would go by every day. But just one month after he died it was gone."This is wrong, they shouldn't have taken his stuff," says Kayla Walreth, Stephen's ex-wife.She's heartbroken and angry."I just don't understand why someone would do such a thing its wrong," says Anna Chavez, Stephen's fiancé.Stephen Walreth's friends and family want to know who took his memorial and why. The former marine was killed on September 3rd in a motorcycle crash on 41st Avenue and Thunderbird."He was such a good person he was a United States marine," says Chavez.Stephen's fiancé Anna Chavez built the memorial near the sidewalk where he was killed. That memorial is gone -- almost everything but this metal pole was taken."Some patches from the Marine Corps and of course the marine flag and it had a dog tag on it."Chavez called the city of Glendale to see if anyone took the memorial. It wasn't the city. With the memorial gone, Stephen's loved ones no longer have a place to visit, a place to feel closer to him."We would just talk. I miss him," says Walreth.Stephen's family is doubtful they'll get anything from that memorial back. Nothing to save for his 19-month-old son Logan."It hurts to know that all the other memorial sites are just fine. Why does his have to get taken out? He does miss his daddy all the time, he'll show me his little toys and say ‘daddy.' It's heartbreaking."And the family is still debating if they should rebuild the memorial and risk getting it taken down again.
