TEMPE, AZ : 9-vehicle crash closes WB U.S. 60 in Tempe; multiple injuries reported on Monday, 12th February 2024

A child was killed and several other people were seriously hurt following two crashes involving 10 vehicles Monday morning in Tempe.Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers responded to reports of a crash with multiple injuries just before 8 a.m. near the Rural Road and the McClintock Drive ramps.

According to DPS, the first crash happened when an SUV heading west changed lanes on U.S. 60. That led to a series of collisions involving seven other vehicles, including a loaded commercial dump truck from GT Hauling. A pickup truck pulling a utility trailer going west then struck the concrete median, crossed over into the eastbound HOV lane and rolled onto its side.
