Greenville,NC : Woman charged with two DWIs after two wrecks on Aug. 23, 2017
Greenville, North Carolina
A 30-year-old woman was charged twice with driving while impaired and hit and run after she was in two wrecks on Aug. 23, according to a weekly review of Pitt County court records.
Margaret Ann Warren, whose address was listed as 3033 Adams Blvd., Greenville, and as 401 Stuart Ave., Southport, was charged with driving while impaired twice at 7:29 p.m. on Aug. 23 after she was stopped on Thomas Langston Road near Davenport Farm Road by State Highway Patrol troopers.
Earlier, Warren was in a two-vehicle collision on N.C. 11 near between U.S. 264-Alternate and Mall Drive when she collided with the car in front of her, according to a crash report.
Warren left the scene and kept driving, the report indicates. No one was injured in that wreck, but damage to the 2016 Toyota she hit was estimated at $500.
A short time later, about 3.5 miles away, she turned right off Thomas Langston Road onto Davenport Farm Road, made a wide turn and crashed head-on into another car that was traveling east on Davenport Farm Road, a crash report shows.
In that wreck, the driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries and went to Vidant Medical Center for treatment. Warren left the scene of that wreck, too, but was located a short time later, the report indicates.
Damage to the 2009 GMC truck she hit in the second wreck was estimated at $20,000. Damage to the 200 Jeep she was driving was estimated at $5,000.
Warren was charged in the first wreck with misdemeanor hit and run. In the second wreck, she faces charges of felony hit and run and DWI.
The crash report indicates Warren’s blood alcohol level was 0.24, three times the legal limit.
Warren also was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, careless and reckless driving, having an open container of alcohol, driving left of center, improper turn and misdemeanor abandonment of an animal. Warren still was in custody at the Pitt County Detention Center on Friday under a $35,000 bond.
