Greene County, OH : Richard Hypes, 48, killed in a crash on I-675 Monday, January 30, 2017
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed the name of a man who was killed in a crash on I-675 Monday.
It happened around 7:09 a.m. on Monday on I-675 northbound near S.R. 444.
Ohio State Highway Patrol officials say the driver Richard Hypes, 48, was driving a black Cadillac southbound on I-675, lost control, went into the median, and hit a red Dodge Ram truck truck head on.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The driver of the red pickup truck was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, as it slid off the road to avoid the head-on collision.
All lanes of 675 northbound are shut down due to the crash. Lanes on the southbound side are once again moving at full speed.
