Albany, NY : Massachusetts man dies in I-90 crash on February, Tuesday 6th 2018

A delivery driver from Springfield, Mass., died early Tuesday after the truck he was driving went off Interstate 90 and crashed in a ditch in Canaan, State Police said.

Jose A. Lopez, 32, was headed westbound and exiting the highway at Exit B3 when the box truck hit the end of a guardrail and rolled about 200 feet before crashing, troopers said.

Troopers said they were called to the crash scene at 2:56 a.m. Lopez was pronounced dead at Berkshire Medical Center.

The crash happened on a portion of the highway commonly referred to as the Berkshire Spur. The exit is near the New York/Massachusetts state line.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
