Sterling, MA : Leominster women killed, passenger injured in I-190 crash on Saturday night, November 1, 2014

State police continue to investigate the cause of the three-vehicle accident on Interstate 190 in Sterling that claimed the life of a Leominster woman Saturday night. Jennifer Johnson, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at about 8 p.m. near Exit 7. A 52-year-old man from Acton was hospitalized. According to state police, Johnson lost control of her 2006 Infiniti G35X, struck a guard rail and came to rest in one of the Interstate's lanes. A 2006 Nissan Altima driven by Michael Bearce, 39, of Acton, then struck the Infiniti, and Bearce's car was then struck by a Lincoln Aviator driven by Danielle Wooding, 33, of Worcester, according to state police. Wooding and Bearce escaped injury, but a 52-year-old passenger in Bearce's vehicle was taken to Clinton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police. The crash was attended to by state police, as well as Sterling Fire/EMS and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. State police said the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
