Pocatello, ID : Two people injured in two-vehicle wreck in Pocatello on Friday night, March 6, 2015
The driver who allegedly left the scene of an accident here Friday night was among the two people hurt in the crash.
The two-vehicle wreck occurred around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Yellowstone Avenue and Chapel Road.
Police said one of the drivers continued to drive north on Yellowstone Avenue for about 1,000 feet following the crash and will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene of the collision, they initially found only one car at Yellowstone and Chapel. The two people, both adults, in that vehicle were not hurt.
Police then found the second vehicle about 1,000 feet to the north on Yellowstone in front of the Cole Chevrolet car dealership. That car had two occupants, both of whom were transported by Pocatello Fire Department ambulances to Portneuf Medical Center.
These two individuals, both adults, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision, police said. The one who was driving will be charged for the hit and run once he's released from PMC, according to police.
The names of those involved in the wreck were not available from authorities Friday night but could be released Saturday.
Police shut down southbound traffic on Yellowstone until 11:15 p.m. Friday because of the crash.
