Charlotte, NC : Providence Road shut down after car crashes into power pole on Tuesday, June 28, 2016
Charlotte, North Carolina
Providence Road was shut down in both directions Tuesday after a car crashed into a power pole.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say it happened around 5:15 a.m. on Providence Road at Fenton Place, near Queens Road. "Power lines are down and blocking all lanes in both directions," Lt. Andy Harris with CMPD said.
The road is expected to remain closed until 5 p.m.
Queens Road to Morehead Street, or Randolph Road, can be used as an alternate route. Officers diverted traffic around the intersection by using Cherokee Road.
Pike Energy crews assisted at the scene, but police said no power outages were reported.
No one was injured in the wreck.
