Essex County ,NJ : N.J. woman charged in fatal Manhattan crash, on Monday June 29th 2015
A Newark woman who admitted to being drunk and high when she crashed her car last week in New York City may be indicted Monday in the death of her passenger, The NY Daily News reports.
Tiffany Allen, 24, crashed early on June 29 in Washington Heights while fleeing from police after officers tried to pull the Essex County woman over for a traffic violation, the report says.
The passenger, Shawnique Hills, 41, was transported to a nearby hospital where she died.
According to the Daily News, Allen was wanted in New Jersey for violating her probation from a fraud case. She was charged last Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court with vehicular manslaughter, unlawful fleeing police and reckless driving.
She is being held on $200,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
