Dover, DE : A fatal motor vehicle crash on Coastal Highway on Wednesday, October, 25th 2017

Delaware State Police are on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash on Coastal Highway (Route 1), in the area of Old Landing Road, in Rehoboth Beach.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 25, and involved a passenger car and a pedestrian. As a result of the crash, the pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. Southbound Coastal Highway, south of Old Landing Road, is completely shut down.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit will assume the investigation. Expect delays in the area and seek alternate routes of travel. Further details will be released as they become available.
