Chapel Hill, N.C : Wrong-way driver crashes into Chapel Hill school bus on Bethel-Hickory Grove Road Tuesday afternoon on September 30, 2014

Troopers say a Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools bus collided with a car that was backing up on Bethel-Hickory Grove Road Tuesday afternoon. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said 37 students from McDougle Elementary School were on board the bus at the time of the collision, although none suffered serious injuries. CHCCS spokesman Jeffrey Nash said some students were evaluated at the scene, however none were transported to the hospital. Highway Patrol said the collision occurred when a car turned the wrong way from Jo Mac Road on to Bethel-Hickory Grove Road. When the driver realized they were going the wrong way, they began to back up and collided with a school bus around 2:52 p.m. Troopers said the bus came to a stop in a grassy area.
