STAFFORD, NY : Driver dead in crash between car and garbage truck on Route 237 in Genesee County on Thursday, 4th March 2021

A driver is dead after a car and a garbage truck crashed in Stafford, Genesee County Thursday.

New York State Police say it happened on State Route 237 and East Morganville Road at around 11:15 a.m.

Troopers say the driver of the car was heading east on East Morganville Road, stopped at the stop sign, but then proceeded into the intersection without yielding the right of way when it collided with a garbage truck heading south on State Route 237.

Ann K. Wood, 73 of Le Roy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
