NORFOLK, CT : Fatal car crash caused 2 brush fires that closed Route 44 on Friday, 25th October 2024

A serious car accident on Friday night has resulted in a fatality and led to the closure of Route 44.

The crash caused downed power lines, which ignited two brush fires on both sides of the road in the area of Greenwoods West Road.

So far, 2 acres have burned, according to Norfolk Public Information Officer Jon Barbagallo. The fire has since been contained.

Police have not identified anyone involved.
