Wilmington, DE : Motorcyclist injured in crash on I-495 in New Castle County on Saturday, July 2, 2016

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday when she wrecked her bike, according to New Castle County Paramedics.

Emergency responders were called at about 8:08 p.m. to the area of I-495 northbound and Fox Point Park, Sgt. Abigail Haas said.

Upon arrival, paramedics found the 26-year-old woman with injuries to her ankle, hand and hip, Haas said, but she was wearing a helmet.

She was treated on scene before she was transported to Christiana Hospital, Haas said. She was admitted in serious condition.

State police were investigating.
