Ocala, FL : A woman involved in a three-vehicle crash on Thursday, June 1, 2017
A woman involved in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 200 died at a local hospital on Thursday.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers identified the woman as Donna Ann Colombo. Authorities said it appears the 56-year-old Ocala woman had a medical episode before the crash.
According to troopers, a 2005 Honda Civic, a 2014 Toyota Camry and a 2005 Chevy Avalanche, were stopped in the middle lane at a red light at the intersection of SR 200 and Southwest 60th Street, when Colombo’s 2005 GMC Cannon pickup truck slammed into the back of the Honda.
The force of the impact shoved the Honda out of the way. The pickup then rear-ended the Toyota and moved it out of the way. Officials said the pickup then struck the back of the Chevy and tossed it out of the way.
The pickup then drove onto the median where it stopped. Colombo was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where she died.
Officials said the driver of the Honda, Rhonda K. Poirier, 62 of Floral City, was taken to West Marion Community Hospital with minor injuries. The Toyota driver, 51-year-old Luz Rivera-Arroyo of Dunnellon was not injured. Damaris Otero-Matos, 50, of Ocala, the driver of the Chevy, was also not injured.
