Phoenix, AZ : A woman was injured when a car crashed into her Phoenix apartment at 43rd Avenue and Van Buren Street On Sunday May 8th, 2016

A woman was injured Sunday afternoon when a car crashed into her Phoenix apartment, police said.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m., when a 29-year-old man lost control of his car and crashed into the apartment near 43rd Avenue and Van Buren Street, said Phoenix police Sgt. Jonathan Howard.

A 30-year-old woman inside the apartment was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from being struck by debris, Howard said.

The driver was arrested for investigation of DUI, criminal damage and endangerment, Howard said.
