MADERA COUNTY, CA : 1 killed in crash that sparked wildfire in Madera County on Monday, 3rd July 2023
A man was killed in a crash that started a wildfire in Madera County on Monday afternoon.
The wildfire, named the Whiskey Fire, is burning in the area of Cascadel Woods and Road 225.
The Madera County Sheriff's Office has issued evacuation warnings for Road 225 Northeast, Road 225 Northwest, Mission Drive, Cascadel Woods, and Road 233.
An evacuation order for the north side of Road 225 between Tera Tera Ranch Road and Rainbow Drive has now been reduced to a warning.
Officials say the fire was sparked around 1:30 pm after a 65-year-old man crashed his tractor in tall grass on his property, killing him.
