Hernando, FL : Hernando cyclist dies in collision with truck on Wednesday, 25th December, 2019
A cyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after a truck struck him as he was crossing a Hernando-area roadway.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) crash report, 64-year-old William Paul Rinestine, of Hernando, was cycling east on East Spruce Drive and was trying to cross State Road 200, or North Carl G. Rose Highway, at around 12:25 p.m.
Andrew A. Buglione, 47, of Dunnellon, and his 43-year-old passenger, Torrie K. Ritchie, of Ocala, were traveling north on S.R. 200 at the same time, riding in a 2007 Isuzu I-290, FHP’s report shows.
While crossing at the intersection, according to FHP’s report, Rinestine didn’t yield to oncoming traffic and cycled in front of the Isuzu, which collided with him.
