Waterloo, IA : Motorist dies in Waterloo crash on Wednesday, 3rd October 2018

DeKalb County police are investigating a fatal crash in Waterloo that claimed the life of an 88-year-old Auburn woman.

Officers said Phyllis L. Reardon was approaching Indiana 427 driving west on County Road 16 when she apparently missed a stop sign about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Her 2008 Ford Edge hit a 2008 Lincoln Mark LT being driven by John C. Bassett, 40, of Butler who was north on 427. He was taken from the scene by helicopter, but police said he was in stable condition at a local hospital.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash, police said.
