Las Vegas, NV : Motorcyclist critically injured in crash with a pickup truck at a northwest end intersection on Tuesday, March 31, 2015
Las Vegas Metro police said a motorcyclist was ejected from his bike after making contact with a pick-up truck at a northwest end intersection.
Police said the incident happened just after 6 a.m. in the area of Craig Road and Decatur Boulevard.
Citing evidence at the scene, police said 64-year-old Anthony Headley was riding a Harley-Davidson bike heading southbound on Decatur and approaching the intersection with Craig.
About the same time, a northbound pickup driven by a 39-year-old woman was attempting to turn left onto westbound Craig.
The pickup truck made contact with Headley's motorcycle just as the rider was trying to avoid being hit, police said. The collision caused Headley to be thrown off his bike.
Headley was transported to University Medical Center with critical injuries. The pickup driver sustained minor injuries.
Police do not believe either rider or driver was impaired.
