Stillwater, OK : A driver attempting to avoid a cyclist crash on Friday, November, 3rd 2017
A driver attempting to avoid a cyclist crashed and was injured Friday morning just north of Stillwater. Constance Marcella, 60, was transported by Life Net Ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center, where she was then transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, admitted in stable condition for trunk internal injuries.
Marcella was driving her 2001 GMC Sierra westbound on Lakeview Road about 1.5 miles north of Stillwater when it was reported that she encountered the cyclist after cresting a hill at around 5:49 a.m. According to the report, Marcella swerved left and departed the roadway to the left where she struck a pipe/cable fence. The truck rolled and came to rest on its top.
Marcella's condition was listed as normal at the time of the collission, and her seatbelt was in use at the time according to the OHP. The weather at the time was cloudy and misty. The road was listed as wet and the reported cause of the collision was a "speed too fast for road conditions."
Payne County Sheriff's office assisted on the case.
