West Topeka, KS : Car-school bus crash reported in west Topeka near S.W. 19th Terrace and Fairlawn on Wednesday, 6th February 2019

Crews responded to a report of a car-school bus accident Wednesday morning in west Topeka.

The collision was reported at 11:25 a.m. near S.W. 19th Terrace and Fairlawn.

USD 501 spokesperson Misty Kruger said there were five students on the bus from Hope Street, Topeka High and Highland Park High School. They were returning to school from Washburn Tech.

No injuries were reported, Kruger said.

No other information about the crash, including who was at fault and how much damage was done, was immediately available.

On Wednesday afternoon, 501 announced it had canceled all sports, activities and events scheduled for Wednesday evening because of the winter weather. School was also canceled Thursday.
