Bellevue, WA : 16-year-old injured after a car crashed into a retaining wall near Enatai Beach Park early Saturday, December 5, 2015

A Bellevue teen is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car crash near Enatai Beach Park early Saturday.

Just after midnight, Bellevue police officers on an unrelated call at the park saw a Chrysler Sebring crash into a retaining wall where 106th Avenue Southeast meets 108th Avenue Southeast.

The car, which police said was traveling at a high rate of speed, was carrying three 16-year-old boys. The front-seat passenger, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was found unconscious and taken to Harborview Medical Center. The back-seat passenger ran from the scene, according to police, and the driver was not injured.

The driver was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault.

Police found the back-seat passenger two hours after the crash and interviewed him.
