STAFFORD, VA : A three vehicle accident on Friday, July 7, 2017
Virginia authorities say they’ve charged a man in connection with a three vehicle accident that involved a county sheriff’s cruiser.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office says in a statement that 57-year-old George Lee Murdock of Stafford has been charged with reckless driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. The sheriff’s office says that on Thursday, a deputy was responding to an emergency call with his lights and siren activated when Murdock turned in front of the deputy’s cruiser.
The sheriff’s office says the two vehicles collided and the cruiser struck a power pole and overturned. The sheriff’s office says Murdock’s van was turned on its side and that a tire from the van struck a third vehicle.
It wasn’t clear if Murdock has an attorney.
