Manatee County, FL : Bradenton man dies in S.R. 70 accident on Thursday night, May 26, 2016

A Bradenton man was killed Thursday night after being hit by four vehicles while attempting to cross State Road 70. Dead is Eugene J. Williams Jr., 24, of Bradenton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Williams was attempting to cross S.R. 70 at about 10:27 p.m. when he was struck by a car driven by Hildry R. Grice, 73, of Riveriew, Fla. He was then struck by three more vehicles, one driven by Albert E. Parente, 25, of Bradenton. There were no skid marks, according to the FHP.

Both Grice and Parente stopped, but the two other cars fled the scene of the accident.

The accident was not alcohol related, according to the FHP.
