Meridian, ID : Speedy driver hits tree, fire hydrant, light pole in rollover crash on early Friday morning September 26th 2014

Officers are investigating what caused a man to roll his car early Friday morning. It happened just before 3 a.m. on the corner of Pine Ave and Webb Ave in Meridian. Officers tell KBOI the driver was speeding when he lost control -- hitting a a tree, a light pole and a fire hydrant, which caused the car to roll. The 34-year-old driver, police say, may have been driving under the influence. He had some minor injuries, but declined medical treatment. Officers say he was not wearing a seat belt. It took crews about an hour to clean up the area, flip the car back over and have it towed. Ada County owns the light pole that was knocked down in the crash.
