Orlando, FL : Motorcyclist killed in I-4 crash early Friday, March 11, 2016
A motorcyclist was killed on Interstate 4 early Friday after he failed to slow for a stopped semi truck in a construction zone, troopers said.
Brandon Lawless, 37, of Orlando was driving a 1997 Honda motorcycle just after 1 a.m. on eastbound I-4 just north of Lee Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he failed to slow for a semi that was stopped in the inside travel lane, behind other stopped traffic in a construction zone.
Lawless' motorcycle struck the back of the semi, ejecting him, and his bike slid until it struck a construction vehicle.
The crash closed the eastbound lanes of I-4 for several overnight hours.
Lawless wasn't wearing a helmet, according to FHP. No one else was injured.
