Laurens County, SC : Driver dies after single-car crash in Laurens County on Sunday, 1st December, 2019

A Laurens woman died in a single-vehicle wreck that happened at 4 a.m. Sunday about 1.8 miles north of Laurens.

Marisa Barragon, 18, died at the scene, according to Laurens County Deputy Coroner Patti Canupp.

A 2016 Nissan four-door car was heading north along S.C. Highway 49 when it went off the left side of the roadway near Curry Road and struck a guardrail and a tree, Master Trooper Gary Miller with the state Highway Patrol said.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was trapped in the vehicle.
