Pauls Valley, OK : James Johnson, 43, dies in single-vehicle crash in Garvin County on Saturday morning, September 10, 2016

A Pauls Valley man died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on a county road in Garvin County.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report, James Johnson, 43, was driving west on a county road just west of Pauls Valley just after 8:20 a.m. when the wreck happened.

Officials said Johnson's Chevrolet Tahoe crossed a center line on a curve, over-corrected and then struck a rock mailbox.

Officials said Johnson was driving too fast for the wet roadway conditions.

Johnson was pronounced dead by emergency medical service personnel at the scene of the crash.
