SHREVEPORT, LA : 2 killed in wrong-way accident that shuts down I-49 North on Saturday, 3rd February 2024

Early Saturday morning, a major accident shut down I-49 northbound for several hours.

The accident took place at N. I-49 and Kings Highway, just past mile marker 205.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, a four-door sedan was traveling the wrong way on I-49, when it collided head-on with a box truck.

Two people inside the sedan were killed at the scene, while the two occupants of the box truck were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
