Cape Canaveral,FL : Motorcyclist dies in Cape Canaveral crash involving deputy patrol car on December, Tuesday 19th 2017
A Cocoa Beach motorcyclist died after after crashing into a Brevard County Sheriff's deputy's patrol vehicle in Cape Canaveral Tuesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man, was riding eastbound on East Central Boulevard just before 2 p.m. Troopers say he was traveling above the speed limit.
Deputy Carmine Siniscal, 67, was driving his patrol car westbound on the road and attempted to make a left turn onto Circle Drive, according to FHP.
Siniscal drove into the path of the unidentified motorcyclist, FHP reports. The front of the Honda motorcycle struck the right side of the deputy's Dodge Charger.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, according to troopers. He was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
