Phoenix, AZ : 9 people hurt in multivehicle crash near 27th Avenue and Van Buren on Monday, 27th January, 2020

Nine people were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash in Phoenix on Monday morning, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

The incident occurred near 27th Avenue and Van Buren about 7:25 a.m. The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene and found nine victims involved in the crash.

The collision occurred when a black SUV ran a red light and collided with a white sedan, according to Phoenix police.

A 12-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl were both transported to the hospital in need of "immediate" medical attention, according to Phoenix Fire.

Both of their injuries are not considered life-threatening, said Sgt. Maggie Cox, a public relations officer for the Phoenix Police Department.
