Statesville, NC : Police searching for driver of rental vehicle after deadly crash in Statesville early Monday morning, July 4, 2016

The search is underway for a person driving a rental car from Maryland after the vehicle was involved in a deadly crash early Monday morning in Statesville.
According to police, officers were called to the intersection of Garner Bagnal and Buffalo Shoals roads around 5:45 a.m. Monday morning. to the report of a crash.
When they arrived, officers found a blue Chevrolet Cavalier off of the roadway against the utility pole guide wires. Medical personnel were called to the scene and later pronounced the driver dead.
He was later identified as 43-year-old Reynaldo Carbajal Hernandez, of Statesville.
The other vehicle involved in the crash was a 2016 Toyota 4 door passenger car with a Maryland tag. Investigators say the vehicle was found off the side of the road, but the driver was missing. The car was a rental vehicle through Enterprise Rental Car.
This incident is still under investigation.
