A man was arrested when his car became disabled after hitting a patrol car and multiple curbs during a chase leading to the discovery of drugs.
Christopher Paul Elhoff, 30, was charged with failure to stop for blue lights, ill-treatment of animals and several drug-related charges, jail records show.
Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling Highway 78 in the Ladson area when they saw a Pontiac Sunfire with expired registration and changing lanes improperly, a report states.
When deputies attempted to stop the car the driver turned into a Spinx parking lot. Deputies trying to anticipate the driver’s next move cut through the center of the parking lot and were hit by the Elhoff, the report states.
